Our Masters

 

The foundation of our work lies in the work of our ancestors. Many sages and wise men from the past millennia left their footprints on the planet. The life and message of people like Jesus, Gautama the Buddha, Patanjali, Rumi, Francis of Assisi among many others are seeds of love that became plants, offering innumerable sweet fruits to the world up until these days. Thanks to those disciples who continued the work of their masters their messages are still alive and available to us. Also we are disciples. Akasha’s mission includes preserving and continuing the spiritual heritage that the sages from the past left us.

Where we come from

​

Although we are open to any truthful tradition or practice, there are traditions that influenced us the most and shine through in all the work we offer as a community, academy and retreat center. In the East there is a strong tradition of master (guru) and disciple, and a huge collection of texts that were created directly out of mystical experiences. Because of the richness of these spiritual traditions, we have chosen to dedicate our lives to the continuation of it. Therefore the following traditions are the main sources of the knowledge and practices we offer:

Yoga

• Karma Yoga (Yoga of action)

• Bhakti Yoga (Yoga of devotion)

• Jnana Yoga (Yoga of knowledge

• Raja Yoga (according to the system of Patanjali)

• Hatha Yoga (Yoga that includes the practice of asanas)

• Tantra Yoga (Yoga of energy and connection)

• Nada and Mantra Yoga (Yoga of sound and mantra)

We practice Integral Yoga, which integrates all of the above branches of Yoga

Ayurveda

​

The ancient knowledge about health and balance, that influences our cooking and approach towards health and understanding of the body, emotions, mind and spirit.

Shamanism

​

We are applying Integral Shamanism (universal way of connecting with spirits and natural elements, based on common ground from shamanic traditions all over the planet).

 

Christianity

​

This is the roots of all of our team members, although the Christian tradition is not very alive anymore in Belgium these days. We are highly honouring the loving consciousness of Christ, Maria and the angels, who are available here right now for us, and who were the main spiritual guides of our ancestors. They are very present in Akasha, as we are staying in an old nun-monastery, and are offering support to Akasha energetically from the astral plane.
